Who Will Detach?<\/h1>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0There are always a lot of injunctions and a lot of advice in old texts and statements of past sages to \u201cjust detach\u201d, \u201cremain detached\u201d. This is going to be pretty difficult and stay alive at the same time. \u00a0 “I am \u00a0really \u00a0attached \u00a0to \u00a0the \u00a0air \u00a0I \u00a0breath, \u00a0 to the \u00a0food \u00a0I \u00a0eat, \u00a0 to \u00a0the \u00a0water \u00a0I \u00a0drink, and to the planet upon which I depend for sustenance.” \u00a0 But that is not what the sages meant at all. \u00a0 So what to detach from? \u00a0 The final conclusion of all Advaita is to let go of the ego-notion \u2013 then there is no longer a false identity who must \u201cdetach\u201d.\u00a0Anything that can be transformed is not the real \u201cyou\u201d. \u00a0 \u00a0The real \u201cyou\u201d is your real identity<\/strong>. \u00a0 The false \u201cyou\u201d and false \u201cme\u201d are fictitious identities. \u00a0Advaitic understanding cures these identity diseases.<\/h2>\n
